The Story Of Moxy Up
It was Christmas morning and my kids were doing their normal kids’ Christmas thing…. Eating pizza, watching movies and building gingerbread houses with their friends. See this had been their routine since they were little and now, they were back home from college. They said “hey mom, you need to bring this to the kids in the community”. I wasn’t sure what “this” meant. But it was just that. A space to be themselves. The feeling of “home” the “safe space”. When I looked around I noticed I had a living room of kids and I loved every moment of it. Our living room had always been like this. A few months later we began visioning Moxy Up.
We build a safe space to build protective factors for youth, families and our community. When we concentrate on building protective factors it reduces high-risk behaviors and creates healthier communities.
Mentoring and leadership is our foundation.
